Leadership Development

TechGirls is a comprehensive, customized program that equips young innovators with the technical skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century workforce.  Targeted skill development enables them to be part of a competitive and innovative workforce. TechGirls participants attend leadership clinics, tailored STEM talks, workshops on career options, project planning, and higher education opportunities. The core tech training includes taking one of several challenging courses taught by Virginia Tech’s faculty.

Community Action Project training results in activities that contribute to home economies and address global challenges through technology.  The projects reinforce and support the skills and linkages acquired during the program, encourage other youth leaders in TechGirls home communities to pursue careers in STEM,  and promote community engagement.
